FEATURED PROJECT: THE U.S. MINT WESTPOINT, NY
The West Point Mint Facility was built in 1937 near the U.S. Military Academy in WestPoint, New York, United States. Originally it was called the West Point Bullion Depository. At one point it had the highest concentration of silver of any U.S. Mint facility, and for 35 years produced circulating pennies.
Today, The West Point Mint Facility is responsible for minting mostly commemorative coins, and storing gold. It gained official status as a branch of the United States Mint on March 31, 1988. Later that year it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
To keep this important Government Facility's employees & visitors safe, Hurricane Fence Company was selected by the Westpoint US Mint to work with security contractor Lenel Security, to implement a state of the art detection system. In conjunction with Lenel, Hurricane Fence Company was able to install a tailored Entry and Access Control System which included no-climb perimeter chain-link fence. This specialty mesh fence product has a 1/4 inch atypical mesh, making intrusion by scaling the fence structure, virtually impossible!
